Mars helicopter completed its 3rd flight
NASA's Ingenuity helicopter has completed its much-anticipated third flight. According to Space.com, this time the helicopter traveled 164 feet north at a speed of four and a half miles per hour. And this distance is half the length of a football field.
Many people may think that they did not go very far, the information for them is that on the second flight, the helicopter traveled at a speed of only 13 feet at a speed of 1.1 miles per hour. So, we, therefore consider the new distances traveled to Mars are much longer than before.
The helicopter has only two flights left by early next month. Then NASA will focus on the main mission of Perseverance Rover.
NASA project manager Mimi Aung said the final two missions were very adventurous and would test the range of the flying machine.
The space agency believes the helicopter will test its ability to use drones in future missions.
